On the Divided single, Peter Kersten (aka Lawrence) offers up three gorgeous shades of dance music. 'Divided' is a classic -- a congas-and-trashcans gallop through melancholy fields of synthesizer. On 'Forever Anna' the main theme goes through a series of rhythmic episodes, from its initial ecstatic pop 'n thwock to a spacey, half-time chug, to an ambient fake-out and back to rhythm. Finally, 'Blow Up' pairs a horizon-scanning beat to some soul-stirring chord changes, melting and taking shape again.
