The Glasgow quartet Frightened Rabbit writes yearning, determined songs. Chugging, low-key verses open up into stratospheric choruses, merging the anthemic tendencies of bands like James and Snow Patrol with a ragged American indie-rock aesthetic. This eMusic exclusive live set was recorded at Urban Outfitters in downtown Austin during the 2007 South by Southwest Music Festival.

This Austin band's dance floor-filling twangy guitar hooks and surging choruses whirl alongside the glorious splendour of violin, cello, French horn, trumpet, and tender, emotive vocals. The band's reputation for writing deliriously perfect indie-pop songs reached the UK after emerging as firm favorites at both CMJ 2005 and 2006 SXSW music festivals, and after being lauded in Pitchfork as well as being Spin.com's "Band Of The Day".
