Forever Sounds Great (CD)
The starting point of The Green Apple Sea's music still is a calm, slow American -influenced notion of music that also forge Acts like Bright Eyes, Red House Painters, Wilco, Calexico or Bonnie "Prince Billie". But there are surprises, for example a fourth man: Christian Ebert plays piano and has produced the album. There are also very poppy parts that sound like they have been taught by Lennon/McCartney; virtuous rhythmic passages straight out of post rock school; extraordinary stories of "El Fin del Mundo", of "A City and A Woman", or of "Best Ever Death Metal band in Denton" (the cover of a piece by the Mountain Goats ). Songwriter Stefan Prange has experienced a lot in the last years and it has left its traces.![]()
