Trippin' the Whole Colourful World (CD)
Hailing from Spain, The Shake are an extremely cool neo-garage, slightly mod, very psychedelic pop/rock band offering up an album of perfectly sculpted songs dripping with harmonies, with guitars both jangly and crunchy - it is truly Revolveresque material - reminding us of the glory days of Cotton Mather. And yes, they sing in English! A quick listen will easily convince that The Shake grew up on a steady diet of Sonics, Easybeats, Kinks, Who, and Flaming Groovies - but don't forget about other 21st century bands like the Greenhornes, Creatures of the Golden Dawn, and the Hives.![]()
