| Bloc Party?s brand of post punk is extremely athletic and physically fit, and it?s swimming in paranoia and fear like some Reagan era time capsule. But there?s a very modern urgency to this music, a rapid-fire alertness that grabs hold of anything that?s listening. These guys want to rock out all their fears and anxieties, and there?s a comfort and a release in their honest exuberance. They seem to be saying that nothing is all right, but we may as well dance in the flames.
