If you were to throw Bowie, Joy Division, The Arcade Fire, and two llamas into a blender, you would have one hell of a mess. Tokyo Police Club is here to help you clean up! - Raucous and delicious - with a lyrical sound resonating in Thurston Moore and the same musical concoction bands like Sonic Youth, Built to Spill and Pavement reeled in many moons ago. The boys are adorable, with an interesting new sound to offer. They've taken all the good bits from indie rock in the past decade and then put their individual spin on things.

This EP is, simply put, amazing! Loads of energy and charisma packed into 15 minutes, gotta love it. Some dude gave this an 'F' on this site, that's unreal and super negative. Listen for yourself and you'll be into it as well.

Chris George - Brantford, , Canada
The Tokyo Police Club's debut album A Lesson In Crime surprises from the moment you enter into the first song. The quiet release has quickly spread deep into Canada's indie rock veins. This, too short, seven song album is charmingly addictive and infectious. Soothing beats mix well with rough lyrics on pop guitars. Think Constantines mixed with, Brantford's own, Vermicious Kind. Random hand claps and time changes tie everything up with a nice bow. The album captures Tokyo Police Clubs' unique approach to live shows, their sense of spontaneity, solid sound and incredible ability to get people out of their seat and make someone dance. Must listen.

Some bands deserve to be hyped from here to infinity, enjoying packed smaller venues and a respectable following of hipster fans. Other bands don't. I'm still not convinced this band deserves to even see print, but a lot of people sure seem to like them. A lot of people also seem to like comparing generic sounding dance-rock bands with the Joy Division, so what can you do?

This is an amazing CD, period. It's just too short!

Dorian Slaybod - Toledo, OH, USA
This CD is a disappointment. I downloaded the single Experiment" and could not wait to get my hands on the full-length. Finally it came and ... well, it is very unimpressive. This is not to say the album does not have its bright moments, but no song comes even close to the hypnotic potency that "Nature of the Experiment" reveals in less than its first few seconds.

Jim Jung - HB, CA, USA
This album is too short! Just when everything is in it's right place, and the world is filled with guitar nirvana, there is the end. Hopefully some more songs will be made.

Jonny - New York, NY, Canada
This album/ep (whatever you want to call it) is indeed delicious. I do believe that this is a CD that will stay in your player for weeks (sorry reviewer above me). Run and get this today!

The description is pretty dead-on in terms of influences. Add a bit of Pixies and you're there. I'll be the first to admit that these kids (and I do mean kids; brave, brazen, & babyfaced) aren't forging any new territory. I'll go one further to say that this record isn't likely to sit in your CD player (or ipod) for days on end. What it will do, or what I hope it'll do, is give you the twitch to HIT THEM LIVE. I had no idea who they were when I saw them, and I was fucking blown away. There are few things more inspiring (be it awe or jealousy) than seeing dudes several years younger than you fucking kill it onstage.
