Mary Lou Lord / Sean Na Na split EP (MP3)
This is a split CD featuring Mary Lou Lord and Sean Na Na on separate tracks. MARY LOU LORD Personnel includes: Mary Lou Lord (vocals); Mike Leahy (guitar); Tim Kelly (lap steel guitar, dobro); Brian Dunton (organ, bass); Jerome Deupree (drums); The Raging Teens. Producers: Mike Leahy, John Williams, Brian Dunton, Matthew Ellard. SEAN NA NA Sean Na Na: Sean Tillmann (vocals, guitar, keyboards, bells); Ted Leo (vocals, recorder, bass); Chris Wilson (drums). Engineer: Ted Leo. Here's a split EP featuring the fairly well known Mary Lou Lord and Sean Tillman, aka Sean Na Na, who at the time of writing isn't exactly a household name. They take three tracks apiece. The opener is a cute and bouncy rockabilly tune recorded with The Raging Teens, followed by "Hard Road," which has an alt country thing happening with some neat dobro and mandolin parts. And, of course, what Mary Lou Lord recording would be complete without a Nick Saloman aka Bevis Frond tune? "Aim Low" is just as fine as anything he's ever written. Sean's side, is a little punkier but no less fun, with three cool songs that are humorous and little bitter. They make you wonder where the hell this guy's been hiding all this time.
